Hello there. One of our users has pointed out that she can no longer open in a new tab using the mouse scroller whereas before she could. We have not made any changes to cause the problem. Has anyone else encountered this and if so, how can we fix it?
Re: middle mouse button does not open in a new tab anymore
Could you explain further, I don't understand the idea of "open a new tab using the mouse scroller". That sounds like an operating system or browser issue. Is this something that only happens when using Moodle and if so what version and when doing what?
Ah- I have a mouse with a scroller down the middle and I only just discovered that if I click it, it will open something in a new tab. I have only ever right-clicked to do this before. So perhaps as Marcus said (and it was Marcus I opened in a new tab with my scroller by the way ) you can say which version, which browser etc.

It is a new concept to me too. Before If I wanted to open a course in a new tab I would hold the ctrl button down and click 'go'. The course would open in a new tab. I can still do it that way but my colleague had been doing exactly the same thing using the scroller. It was working perfectly until yesterday and now it doesn't.
I am on v2.5.3 using Chrome

Re: middle mouse button does not open in a new tab anymore
It's weird because it only happens in one sub-category. Once you are in the sub-category the mouse button does what it should so it appears to only affect a certain level of the structure. Problem occurs globally so can't be a computer-specific problem..
How nice to learn something new! My middle button works in Chrome to open a new tab. I've been using right click to do that for years.
Just following Ben to say me too

...it's not a Moodle issue surely? It's an OS/Browser thing...
(PS. Works fine for me on this site)
