One of the major early contributors (preceeding even the OU adoption of Moodle in 2005) was Humboldt state university. I don't know any details. I was hoping that someone from there would reply in this thread, but you may tant to try to contact them.
The adoption of Moodle by the OU in 2005 did a lot for Moodle's credibility globally, so you might want ot mention that, even though we are in the UK, not US.
