We have added the configurable reports block and it shows up on the home page. How can we hide this from the student role?

You can remove permission to see the block from as many roles as you like. But is that really what you want? I only want students to be able to see their transcript, but I want them to see their transcript. And I want supervisors to be able to see their employee's transcripts. It's all or nothing. So I set up permissions in the report to only allow people with particular roles (and locations) to see them. Gives you more flexibility.
