Urgent Need for course setup help

Hello everyone.

I have an emergency situation where I need to get a Moodle course set up and 1) configure it to allow student access and 2) set up an online exam for them.

Someone else made a promise that they cannot keep and they are reaching out to me for help. Unfortunately she waited until the last minute to try and get me involved.

The Moodle version is 2.6+ and I have logged into it. I dont see any other courses configured.

I have looked at the Moodle docs and they explain a lot. HOWEVER, I really need to know if there is a brief, step-by-step guide to doing the following: creating the course, uploading users in bulk, uploading an exam test bank and setting up a timed exam.

I realize I am asking for a lot. If no such guide exists, I will be up for quite a while tonight getting it figured out. I don't mind doing the work, I just know it would be easier with a guide as to what to do in order.

Thanks very much for any help anyone can provide.

Do you have the old moodle course? ie do you have a backup of a course that your "friend" was using? If so, you can restore that course to the new site.

Are you admin in the course?

If so, to create a course you just go to admin>courses>Add a category after you create a category it will prompt you to add a course which you do.

If you have an excel file with the students you can use it to upload them via bulk upload. You can see information for that here.http://docs.moodle.org/22/en/Upload_users

Do you have the test created? What form is it in? If it is gift format you can create a quiz (when creating the quiz, make sure you set a time limit, and then upload the questions to it.
