How to make a quiz "open book" or "open notes"

With the help of fellow Moodlers, I was FINALLY able to make my test "open book" while not asking the students to open another browser, as I just thought it looked too unprofessional for the audience I was going to serve.

Here is how it was done, step-by-step for those of you who, like me, are novices.

1) You can either save your whole course in pdf format, or (as I did) you can divide the course up into chapters or sections, and save each section as a pdf.

2) Go to the quiz and go to "edit quiz"

3) In the question box, just beneath the question, write something like "Review Course Material" or similar. Highlight those words, and then click the "link" button.

4) I personally like to use "popup", but I suppose you could use "general" too. Click one, and upload your pdf that you created in step 1. Click "insert".

5) Don't forget to click "save changes" at the bottom of the edit question page.

Good luck!
