With thanks to the many in the forums reporting and helping fix bugs, I am proud to announce the latest version of Elegance has now been deployed in the plugins DB. Included in this release are the following fixes.

  • FIX: Navbar on mobile devices
  • FIX: Formatting of course tiles when editing is turned on
  • FIX: FontAwesome display
  • FIX: Slideshow when using more than 3 slides
  • FIX: Logon page formatting
  • FIX: Numerous (by that I mean A LOT) of minor formatting fixes
  • NEW: Click on block title to toggle hide and show

I would urge ANY sites using this theme to upgrade to the new release. Please keep this forum thread for just reporting issues with this release version only

Hi Julian,

I just upgraded the theme, a first item to mention : the personal messages pull-down menu gives attached results, with "nouvelle notification" sentence going to the right over the base window.

The problem is true in all the languages. An universal solution would be simply make smaller the font.

Another small item Julian, attached : the bottom of Admin Search box has text cut to the right, etc..

Hey Julian,

*LOVE* both Essential and Elegance.
I am either going blind or crazy though, because I can't seem to nail down how to add content to the immediate left of the marketing spots. In the theme video you made (which was lovely), you had a "welcome to elegance" photo or something, and the icon looks almost like a calendar...
I know, I sound crazy... but I would love a path/map to this setting.

Also, it seems that "move right" as pertaining to resources and activities is disabled... in the sense that nothing moves right, though the option is still available.

Just so. En-Us, can't move or indent activities/resources.

Love the theme- love the two column look.

Easy to do.

That is just a block location. On the homepage:

  • Turn editing on
  • Add a HTML Block
  • Click and drag the block into that blank section
  • Edit the block and enter your content (image, text, movie, etc)

You can use any block you want there as well. For instance, on http://2014.imoot.org I have put in Moodle's RSS feed block.

Hi Julian,

Thanks for the fixes (the missing bullet points in Page resources was bugging me!)

I've noticed an issue with the theme that is still present in v2.6.1...

The custom menu items is broken when there is a sub-sub menu item that links to another page.  In other themes the custom menu items works fine and opens the correct link.

Try pasting this in the custom menu items box in the Theme Settings page and you'll see what I mean.

Hi Paul,

I can confirm that sub-sub-menus are not working properly in Elegance version 2.6.1 (Build: 20140311). The suggested workaround in MDL-41788 did not solve this issue.

With kind regards,

Hartmut

Hi Paul, the problem is that Elegance core_renderer.php is missing most of the menu render that makes it work.  It could be that Julian forgot to add it, and since this theme is a standalone theme, in that it has no parent theme to inherit these renderers in the same way that Clean theme does.

I'll create a Moodle Tracker to track it so that Julian can fix it.

Cheers

Mary

Hi Julian,

First, thank you for the wonderful theme.  Our district is about to update to 2.6 (over the summer), and I have been trying to make improvements to both design and function of the site.  I have a very minimalistic approach, and have almost gotten our front page exactly how I would like it.  Here's an image of where I'm at so far...

As you can see, I have hidden the "admin" and "nav" blocks, but I cannot get rid of that white block at the bottom of the page!  I have tried every setting in every place that I can think of, but it won't go away.  I unchecked showing a topic area on the front page, turned off course request, turned of news item display...I don't know what else to try.  As an explanation, I turned off course requests because when I'm signed in as an admin there is a "add a course" button that appears in this area.  But I would rather just do that from the admin block and not have to display this white space.

Can anyone help!?

Thank you again for the great theme, and any assistance anyone can provide.

Loving the idea of adding MyCourses to the homepage. Great stuff.

That leftover white box is certainly not good. Ill improve the theme logic ASAP so it will remove that box if there is nothing to populate in it. Check the github in about 24 hours for an update

Wonderful!  And thank you for the kind words.

While you are taking a look at things, I have another visual item that you might be able to help with.  I have been playing around with altering the theme colors to match our district colors.  When I darken the background, the "Moodle" branding image in the footer on the front page of our site is altered.  But when I go to any other site page, it looks wonderful.  Would you know what might be happening here?

Thanks again for the flexible, beautiful theme.

If you downloaded the theme then look in the renderers/core_renderer.php

Does any one has problem with slideshow?

When I have one slide, Elegance 2.6.1 shows that properly but when I add other slides, it only shows the last one. I mean other slides are black with no text and picture.
