Here are the steps to enable quiz submission notification.

  1. Go to Site administration/ ► Users/ ► Permissions/ ► Define roles. Find and allow the capability mod/quiz:emailnotifysubmission for Teacher (editingteacher).
  2. Go to Site administration/ ► Plugins/ ► Message outputs/ ► Default message outputs.
    1. Scroll down to Notification of quiz submissions
    2. Enable (Permitted) email / pop up notification (attached screenshot)
    3. Click the Save changes button
