hii is it possible to upgrade moodle 2.2.3 to moodle 2.6 without losing users account and cources ?
Yes it is possible. Please read and review everything on this doc page: Upgrading and come back and ask more questions if there is anything you do not understand.
Most importantly always ensure you have a TESTED and WORKING backup before you begin any upgrade process!
Jon
No problem Amjad. Do post back here if you run into any issues!
You might to have another look at the upgrade notes. I believe it recommends getting to 2.2.11 first.
I tried going from 2.2.9 to 2.6 and had problems.
Going from 2.2.11 to 2.6 went smoothly.
Hi Mark,
I can not see that recommendation in the docs page I linked to. It merely states:
"Note: You can only upgrade to Moodle 2.6 from Moodle 2.2 or later. If upgrading from earlier versions, you must upgrade to 2.2 as a first step."
If that is the case then I think the docs need updating to reflect that. Can anyone else confirm if you need to upgrade to version 2.2.11 before attempting an upgrade to 2.6?
Cheers,
Jon
Yes, I noticed that also in the 2.6 upgrade notes Jon.
I did read somewhere on moodle.org where is specifically referred to 2.2.11; trying to find it.
Found the reference to 2.2.11
I think what they are saying is that if you are at pre-2.2, then you have to upgrade to 2.2.11 first, then go to 2.6
