Our first 1.5x theme. College15. Tested in Moodle 1.5 Beta. Seems OK in IE 6, minor issues remain in Mozilla. At MoodleThemes we now have 11 themes for download. Please send us feedback about issues so that we can fix them fast.

It's so good! I can't find any problems in both IE and Firefox till now. Thank you for your work!

An advice: The RSS Feed block shows the entries in a mass way in IE. Can you make it more clearly? Maybe drawing lines between entries or made the neighbour's backgroud color difference.

Good work, Himmat - keep it up! I'm looking forward to seeing lots of new themes for Moodle 1.5!

Are these GPL?   Can I include any of them in the distribution? (with full attribution of course)

Certainly Martin! We will feel honoured. I don't fully understand the GPL license so these themes are totally free, no strings attached. I suppose they could be GPLd too. You are welcome to use any of these themes. Or, we could make special themes for inclusion in 1.5.

Absolutely awesome, thank you!  approve  approve

How many can you make before Sunday's release!?  big grin

The GPL looks complex but basically it says: this is free to you as long as you keep the copyright notices I put on it and pass it on to others under the same license (ie GPL).

This is better than saying it's "just" free with no strings, because someone else could take your themes and start selling them as their own, see?  At the very least you should be getting credit for your work!

appletHello Martin. Have emailed three 1.5x themes to martin@moodle.com. Elektrik, Global and College15. The first two have not been released on Moodlethemes website. We've added the screenshots and edited the READMEs with relevant info. PSD header files can be downloaded later at MoodleThemes, if that's OK by you. My small team suddenly got busy yesterday with a new client, else we could have sent 6 to 7 themes. Sorry.

I like your theme. It is very well done.

I noticed that the screenshot and the information (these are shown on the theme page in Moodle) are still those of the standard theme.

Hi, Juan.

I'm sure you'll later wish you never typed that while you were feeling so angry, and I can delete your post if you wish, ... but I have to wonder what the real reason for your sudden anger is ... (apart from the Bacardi you mentioned wink )

Quite a lot of people were and are very supportive of your themes too ... in fact I remember you were refusing to even release them until you got enough support from people.

And remember I suggested setting up your own site to distribute your themes from to help reduce forum traffic and make them easier to see and download...? I still think it's a good idea - as you can see MoodleThemes are doing just that and it's working for them. Busy people need things made easy for them ...

There's no reason we can't have lots of designers working on themes (it's the ideal situation!) and everyone here is learning as we go, so how about being a little more constructive with relationships, eh? wink

By the way, got any 1.5 themes for us?  big grin

Themes for 1.5 release

by Himmat Singh -
appletHi Martin. I mistook 'Sunday' for this Sunday. If the release is on coming Sunday (12 June 2005) we can send at least 7 more themes by Friday; conversions to 1.5 of our 1.4x themes which got good ratings in the downloads section - blueseek, bluelines, peachplate, deepred, formalbally, officeshade and romanmoodle. Please let me know if that's OK by you.

I think that it was yesterday, Sunday 5th. - It is already out.
http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=25040

Still, next Sunday would be nice. If in the process of updating themes you could make notes on what needed to be changed and why I would be very grateful, because I (and others) have themes that we will be updating.

Perhaps there are explanations of what needs to be changed already?

Hello from Singapore!

Yes, I did mean yesterday.  Thanks for the two you sent, Himmat, I didn't include them because I found they looked a little odd under Firefox ... can you test them under Firefox?  Also, some Moodle logos with links to moodle.org  wink

Anyhow, themes are welcome anytime, and I'm happy to integrate polished ones into point releases (eg 1.5.1) at any time.

Juan, I've moved to Moodle from a proprietary VLE that had no choice of themes whatsoever. sad I think it's great that Moodle Themes are so easy to create and customise and that we have a community that is so willing to share! big grin

A big THANK YOU to you, Himmat and everyone else who shares their themes! big grin

Hi Juan. Can't even begin to understand your rage! I think you should know that your exquisite themes inspired us in the first place! We don't have half your talent so certainly our themes won't appeal to you. That's understandable. But all kinds have to coexist, I believe. Anyway I don't think of theme creation as some kind of contest!
