I searched in the forum and on the internet but didn´t find a report describing this problem.
I think I found a bug in the assigment when files are uploaded an the button "Require students click submit button" is enabled in the setting. If a student submits a file and clicks the button and a teacher resets this with "Revert back to Draft" and the students submits a second time, an Mail that he was graded is sent to the student. After submitting the first time, the student get a mail that he submitted something in the assigment, which is ok. But when submitting a second time after a teacher reverted the assignment back to draft, he get a mail that he was graded, even if there is now grade or comment.
Has anybody else encounterd this problem? Is there already a bug reported?
I've just had a look in the Moodle Tracker and can't find any other report of the problem. Thus feel free to report it yourself, then post the issue number in this discussion thread so that others can easily comment, watch or vote for the issue to be fixed.
We have a test installation of Moodle 2.5.2 (Build: 20130909) here, because we want to upgrade to this version soon. E-Mail Notification is correct in Moodle 2.5.2 (Build: 20130909), bug is fixed there!
Thanks Peter, good that you have a test installation to check whether the bug is fixed in 2.5.
Our Moodle demo sites, such as the Moodle sandbox, which use the latest stable version of Moodle, can often be used for checking whether a bug is fixed, though not in this case, as email is disabled on the sites for spam prevention reasons.
