I have added these to the tracker.

I wanted to list three improvements we would like to see to the Attendance module to make it more useful. Let me know what you think about these suggestions and if you have any others that might be useful. Also, if you agree that these would be an improvement, go vote for them.

  • Color code the report that teachers see so that various attendance states are highlighted (such as green for present, red for absent). We would probably have to  also modify the settings page so that users could set the colors for the different attendance choices
  • For the sessions tab, default to all. Currently it defaults to sessions in the current week which can be confusing to users who have just created a bunch of attendance sessions.
  • After adding sessions, the user should go back to the sessions page so they know that the sessions have been created. Right now, there is no indication that the sessions were created. An alternative would be the display of some message that the sessions were successfully created.

Hi Geoffery - thanks for adding those to the tracker - if anyone wants to pick that work up and submit a patch I'd be happy to review them for inclusion, unfortunately it's unlikely I'll be able to spend any time as a volunteer working on those improvements.
