Quiz Statistics MOODLE 1.9 vs 2+

Hello everyone.  We recently moved to 2.4 and our instructors are having challenges with the item analysis.  The feedback I am receiving is that they believe the information is not accurate OR that it is so different from 1.9 that they are concerned.  

I was wondering if anyone has any information or input they can share on this challenge?

I am wondering if the formula in 1.9 and 2.+ are the same or has the formula been tweaked.  If the formula has been tweaked, can anyone explain the difference (in simple terms)?

Any other input is appreciated.

I don't really remember what was in 1.9.

What is in 2.x is a good set of statistics that were chosen with the help of a statistician from the OU's institute of educational technology. The are documented on the Moodle docs wiki. http://docs.moodle.org/25/en/Quiz_statistics_report. (See the links at the bottom of that page.)

I think this might be an occasion for a bit of tough love. Tell your users that things have changed, and they will just have to deal with it. I predice that in a year's time, once they are familiar with the new reports, they won't even remember that there was a problem. (You can probably do that more tactfully than I could.)

You know I agree with you smile  I also try to be open minded enough...just incase we have a genius on staff who finds an error smile

I think their concern is because they are expecting different outcomes and are not getting what they are use to seeing or expecting.

I already shared the quiz statistics report with them.  That slowed them down a bit smile  

Change is hard and sometimes stress is contagious...helping resolve this in an open minded diplomatic way will help everyone smile Now... how to do it smile
