I've been asked to improve the navigation for users of our install of Moodle so that the side navigation column, which we've implemented with blocks, is always displayed and does not disappear when users navigate into activities or the calendar page etc.
I'm wondering if Moodle 1.5 perhaps already allows blocks to be displayed on pages like forum listings and the calendar page? Any plans to add this if not?
If not, I have a reasonable idea of how to implement the change in code.

Hi Nat,
Moodle 1.5 easily supports blocks in activities (like forum listings that you mention). You could also display them in the calendar pages using the same technique. For a working example, take a look at the quiz and chat modules which support blocks out of the box.
