I've just been asked by a colleague why their videos (added to Moodle as URLs) are not playing in Internet Explorer (though they play fine in Firefox).
The video's in question are .wmv's that are located on a departmental Microsoft Media Server. I can confirm that when accessing them via IE9 I am getting a 'webpage cannot be displayed message' - but have no problems accessing the resource via Firefox. We are using Moodle 2.5
Through my tests, I can see that if I add the links to these videos in a label or a page they work fine. Additionally, I can open the URL directly in IE - it's just when they're added as a Moodle URL that we see to have this (seemingly IE specific) problem.
Can anyone explain why this might be and whether something can be done to resolve this (without the teacher having to re-create all of his videos as links located in labels)?
