If I have a quiz that has short answer questions and a student is marked incorrect for one or more questions, is there a way to bring forward their previous attempts so they don't have to re-enter their original correct answers and just correct their wrong answers?

Hi Jane Bell
What you can do is Go to the responses of that student and review his attempt. When you review you get option for comment or override marks from their you can alter the marks, the marks will change but it will not show it correct.

You're looking for Each Attempt Builds on Last. Check the bottom of the section linked to. It is likely to be an "advanced" setting.
