Here is the first of a set of Sneak Peeks showing some cool features coming in the Next Essential release.

Sneak Peak

Many thanks to the following for input on these features.

  1. Shaun Daubney of Aardvark fame for the idea of alerts. He has graciously let me pilfer the idea for Essential as well
  2. Bas Brands of Moodle Bootstrap fame for his hard work on getting Docks to work again in Bootstrap.
  3. Mary Evans for pointing out that my layouts could be done much much easier than what I had been doing in the past
  4. The many in the community for sharing their bug reports, code snippets and ideas.

Of course I release this to also get some attention! Please help test or translate the theme if you can. Grab the latest from github. Hoping to have this out in the next week or so.

Congrats on version 2.5.4 looking forward to install.

Do I have to uninstall earlier before installing this, or can just replace folder (I did manual install by copying folder into directory).

If you are using Moodle 2.5.1 or above moodle can do the upgrade for you through Admin settings when it is released.

Otherwise, if doing it manually, I recommend deleting the old theme and uploading the new one as I have removed several files that will no longer be needed as part of the optimisation for the new release.

Hi Julian

The login page - just looks the same to me...or has something radically changed?  I've got my own fork but pulled the latest from your master.
