Best way to make a lot of images available to students

Best way to make a lot of images available to students

BACKGROUND: I've uploaded a few folders of images for students.  There is a feature of folder that you cannot view an image, only download it.  http://docs.moodle.org/24/en/Folder_resource_FAQ#Can_I_prevent_forcedownload_behaviour_in_files_in_a_folder.3F

I've just posted a tracker item here: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-41121 to see if this could be changed.

Meanwhile:

How do people make a folder of images quickly available to students to browse through and download the ones they want?

PS to this post: is there a way to click and drag an image onto a Section and have it appear embedded (rather than a clickable link?)

PPS: the thumbnails in the edit folder view may be enough to meet my needs:

What do people think of a thumbnail option in folder view for images which are a little bigger . . .  maybe the images at the top and the other files below?

In reply to your first PS - you can drag images in (if you have drag and drop) in 2.5 and then choose if they will appear embedded in a label or as a file. That's not a course section but it is a quick way of embedding an image.
