This is a new check in moodle 2.5 which forces the developers to call a setType for form params explicit. It is only a warning and don't explain the white pages you mention.
However, we made another version of the plugin containing those setType calls:
https://github.com/eledia/moodle-block_configurablereports
This version should solve all setType issues.
