Hi,
I was wondering if there was a moodle block/plugin available that allows points to be awarded to students and then keeps a tally of them for reports. The students are organised into 5 different houses (Harry Potter-esque) so we would also need to separate the data in that way too.
Anything like this available?

When you create grade items and leave the aggregation at sum it will tally all of the points. You can create categories with grade items in them so you can organize the items. You can create a category of subcategories.
Your question isn't really clear. Can you give an example of how you want it to add your points?
