Hello,

How can I make images behave like a youtube video or webpage, that is the image isn't stored in the repository?

Pros - 1) my moodle 2.4 site is smaller, 2) moving moodle to another server I don't have to worry about broken links when the absolute file path changes.

Cons - 1) more demand on internet connection bandwidth

It is pretty simple really. You just paste or type the link into the url field of the image chooser I attached a screenshot.

It is a bit of a hassle doing it each time. The file chooser in moodle makes it so much easier.  Also in recent moodle (2.3 and beyond) you can choose to link to a file, rather than copy it into moodle
