We are developing a patch that allows for assignment RESUBMISSIONS with the hope that this feature will make it into Moodle 2.5. You can read more about this work here: https://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-36804
At this point, there’s still some issues that need to get be ironed out, but the patch seems to work as expected.
If anyone would like to test and provide feedback, you can download the Moodle 2.5 code via the Github link in the tracker (see above link) or, for anyone who wants to test this patch on Moodle 2.4, follow these steps:
1. Go this GitHub repository: https://github.com/fernandooliveira/moodlefn-assignment_resubmission
2. Click on the “zip” button (http://screencast.com/t/tA6rZpuZ) and download the file. The zip will contain a directory called “moodlefn-assignment_resubmission-master”. Rename this directory to “assign”.
3. Replace /yourmoodlesite/mod/assign with the new assign directory that you download from GitHub.
4. Log into your Moodle site as admin to trigger the database update.
Please do not test this on your production server.
