The recent Activity block does not show anything. Is there some setting I need to enable before this block shows any activity?

Do you mean that when you do something on the course, such as add a forum post or a new assignment - the recent activity block does not show these? It shows the most recent activity that has occurred after it has been set up.
If you're referring to the recent activity block in this course, it was removed for performance reasons and an HTML block named 'Recent activity' with a link to the full report of recent activity was added.
Maybe we should remove the HTML block if it's causing confusion, as there is also a link to the full report of recent activity at the top of the course page.
Well, the one in the course is working fine. But, the full report does not seem to work. This block is the one on the course list page (homepage).
