Latex expression disappearing from tinyMCE

I am having an issue with the Latex expression disappearing from tinyMCE.

If I disable the text editor in my profile and enter an expression surrounded by the doubledollars, it gets rendered correctly.

However, if I enable the tinyMCE editor and then enter an expression, the entire line is removed.

Any ideas? I am using 2.3.3 on a Centos 6.3 server.

With the error displaying on, I don't get an error, either.
