I think there was an autoattendance module in the past, that allow student to record there presence in a course using a key and with some limitation based on IP address
Is there a plan to integraded this functionnality in this attforblock ?

If this can be of any help, what i thing you are refering to is aspecial type of quiz that you can create to take attendance. I used it for short while to take live class atendances back in moolde 1.9.
