WebDAV repository config problem

WebDAV repository config problem

We use a WebDAV server running nder https on a Windows 2008 server.

All works fine, but I cannot get the WebDAV repository to show anything in the file picker. It sits with the spinningwheel and the displays nothing. It seems others have had problems -see the tracker case above - but I don't know if this is still a problem.

We're using 2.3 on Ubuntu 10.04. Does anyone know if it was fixed in 2.3 or how to obtain a patch?

Thanks

James

Hi James,

we fixed quite a few things on the WebDAV repository recently, but if you are experiencing any problem, could you please comment on this issue you mentioned and/or create a new issue for us to take care of the problem you are facing.

Before reporting a new issue, I'd suggest that you make sure the configuration of your WebDAV repository is correct. http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/WebDAV_repository

Please note that the path to WebDAV is a relative path. Using Apache, the directory could be /var/www/webdav, but the WebDAV path is /webdav.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

We have WebDAV working and it is accessible using PC, iPad 2, and Android devices and files can be uploaded successfully. However, when try to upload using WebDAV repository in Moodle 2, the response has always being the same as described by James Bisset - which is empty list in file picker. I have been searching for a solution on moodle.org but no luck so far.

Moodle 2.3.2+ (Build: 20120914) running under Windows Server 2008 R2 (on a virtual server), IIS v7.5 with the latest updates, php 5.4.6, MySQL v5.5.27

Using https WebDAV type with Basic Authentication and port 8443 and correct hostname of server and path.

Desperately hoping this feature will work for 2013 on iPad 2. Thanks.

Hi Donald,

have you double checked the path to the WebDAV share?

The server hostname, port, path, https, Basic Authentication are correct as it has been tested using WebDAV on various devices and from different apps, browser etc. The result on Moodle 2 is the same which is "No files available" see attachement.

unfortunately this is the default behaviour went something goes wrong (or if there are no files obviously). If you can set up an access for me I'd be happy to test it, my email address is fred at moodle dot com. Also, you might want to try to set the setting debug to 'DEVELOPER' as some error messages could then be displayed.

WebDAV now works for me to some extend if:

user create their own instance by Navigation > My profile > Repositories, click on "Create WebDAV repository" instance

WebDAV server includes the port and eg https://host.company.com:8443

WebDAV server port is left BLANK

However, folders shown include part of server and path and I cannot upload files from folders but OK if files are not in folders. It would be fantastic if these issues are corrected.

Re: WebDAV repository config problem

We are testing Moodle 2.4 and am having the typical "No Files Available" issue with WebDAV.

We have a WebDAV server setup using 2008 R2.  WebDAV works in all other applications, but not in Moodle.

Ex. URLhttps://wd.duchesneacademy.org/files/fsmith

Am using Basic WebDAV Authentication from Moodle dropdown menu.

We too am implementing the iPads and was hoping this would allow us to change LMS and allow access to files using WebDAV.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
