Is there any way of looking at this report by groups within the course? We have multiple groups/teachers running the course simultaneously.
It has a great option of being able to "bulk" email/message students from this area saving teachers having to run individual reports and messaging separately. The report is great but the downside is that it can't be drilled down by groups. The teacher is seeing 155 students instead of their own group. Is there another way?

Unfortunately it's not possible to filter by groups in the participation report. The problem of the course participation report not respecting separate groups is reported in the tracker as MDL-21415 and you'll notice I've added a comment mentioning this discussion. Please vote for the issue if you'd like to see it fixed.
In the meantime, perhaps you could use the send message feature on the participants page to bulk message all users in a particular group.
