Not option for enable/disable Printing book in Moodle 2.2.4

I have just upgraded to Moodle 2.2.4 and the book is one of our most used plugins.

There is no option for printing the book (either using Book 2.0 and Book 2.1 versions) in the book menu, and the option that Mary mentioned about enable/disable the option of printing the book is not in the book settings either.


Can you please advice?

What is the whole point of having upgraded if our students cannot print the book.

I did several tests with lower versions of Moodle 2.2 and it was possible to print the book in all of them.

We have run into the same problem after upgrading to 2.2.4.  There is another discussion in progress relating to this issue, the url is http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=203177 and a link to a potential fix has been posted into that discussion.

Have you tried to apply the fix that is suggested in the tracker report here?

We did apply it and we are only now seeing the "Print Chapter" icon

I am working with Susan to try to help resolve the problem as well and we discovered if you disable the CSS in the browser the Print icons reappear here is a short screencast that illustrates the problem

Somehow I also believe that the option that Mary discussed about the enable or disable the option of printing the book is not in the book and also there is no option for printing the book either. I also need advice on this.

A student, teacher, admin can print book from Settings > book administration

The below is a student view :

If you are not getting this option please check the capability for the role

Print book ( booktool/print:print ) : Set to Allow
