I have been trying to install Course File Area Repository Plugin for Moodle 2.x on Moodle 2.3 I would like to achieve functionality similar to the Related Courses block in 1.9. I have installed the necessary Repository File Manager block also

from here: http://www.autotrain.org/misc/source/moodle2/coursefilearea/

Here is the error I am getting:

Plugin "block/coursefilearea" is defective or outdated, can not continue, sorry.

More information about this error

Translation:

To perform this installation, check the name of the folder created on the way moodle / blocks equals coursefilearea.php file.

In this case the name of your folder should be: coursefilearea and the name of your file should be as follows: block_coursefilearea.php

Inside the folder block must contain a file version.php

James, had the same problem.  I then read the read.me file and the coursefilesarea directory needs to be in the repository directory.  Once I did that, the plugin kicked right in.
