Hi,

Therehave been some major changes and I have a feeling that Topic numbers where dropped in Moodle 2.3.x but I may be wrong.

Have you test this in other themes? If it is just Formal white then it has been deliberately hidden for whatever reason.

Francois,

I am also using Moodle 2.3.1 and Formal White. Topic numbers are still used and available. When you open a topic in edit mode, there is a check box (Use default section name) at the top of the editing area. With a check in the box your are locked out of using the Section name box but can type in the HTML area. With the check mark removed, you can type in the Section name box and also in the HTML area.

Hope this helps,

AL
