I tried Simplehost a few months back with no major issues.  It was as a test system to see if our institution wanted to move away from our existing host to a new host.  Overall, the tests went well.  But, after some discussions with their tech support (hours on hold) and finding out information from other disgruntled former users, we decided to go a different direction.  The three things that came across from those disgruntled users were:
  • Difficult to get trouble tickets answered (even phone requests)
  • Too many sites on a single server (as much as 700)
  • Quick to take people offline for "overuse" of cpu resources even without taking time to fully explore who/what was causing the problem
