Hi I am struggling to find the answer for adding static pages unrelated to courses.
Is it good practice to use courses or pages for static pages??
Please help, Simon.
Hi there. Several answers to this but you might like to investigate "page" in the main menu block on your front page. http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/Main_menu_block You can make pages there which are unrelated to courses. If you don't want the main menu block showing on your front page you can copy the URL of the page, then hide the main menu block and paste the link elsewhere - for example if you are using Moodle 2 then in the custom menu items in the themes setting page.http://docs.moodle.org/23/en/Theme_settings
Update:
Ok, I figured out how to do this. You need to edit it on the main menu on the frontpage itself. Is there a way to manage pages from the administration section rather from the front end?
Also, how do you then assign a template to that static page?
Original Question:
I don't see these options anywhere in 2.3. I'm very new to Moodle, but all I'm really trying to do is create a series of static pages (pretty much the first thing I'm trying to do in Moodle).
If I go to add a block there's no Main Menu block option. If I go to front page settings there is nothing there either. If I go to manage blocks I get a series of PHP warnings, though if I scroll past them I can see the Main Menu. I have no idea how to edit it to add a static page.
Hi Mary,
I'm curious. Is this the way the pages "Why a Moodle MOOC?" and About were created in the learn.moodle.net site?
I love the way they look!!
