Mode: Preview or Normal - why do you ask me these things moodle?

Hello everyone,

When any user with any privelages check out my first ever SCORM package, the first thing they see when clicking on the course title from the home page is a page which has the course name & summary, and then two random radio buttons asking which mode users want, "Preview" or "Normal". (Screenshot attached)

Why, o why, are these buttons here? What do they mean? Can I make it go straight past this page and into the course itself?

Any help, much appreciated folks!

In add a new AICC/SCORM module there is a setting to disable preview mode so you won't see the two radio buttons. If you complete a module in preview mode it is marked with a different icon.

In the module itself cmi.core.lesson_status can tell if the module is being browsed.  If you wanted to display only the first 6 slides in preview, it is easy programatically to query this status and present the slides. I am not familiar if this capability is present in any SCORM authoring tools.  Anyone?
