How can I have a list of courses with descriptions (including pictures) instead of simple list on the front page?

Hi Greg, we meet again 
Do you mean something like this?
- Don't create course categories, use the "Miscellaneous" category to hold all of your courses
- Select "show a list of courses" as your front page format
- Don't exceed the COURSE_MAX_SUMMARIES_PER_PAGE (defined in course/lib.php) value. If you do exceed it, just increase the value.

I would like to do this but when I try to move one of my courses I get

I can move it to other categories.

I tried that but the message is still the same - no more information. I am on a hosted account so I don't think I will have access to the apache logs - at least I can't find them ;-(

This was a passing bug sometime in 1.4.3+ ... try upgrading to a later version.

I'll have to live with it then as I am just about to go live with my courses after pilot testing.

If that's the case, shuffle the categories around a bit and try again. At any rate, I'd recommend you move to a newer 1.4.3+

Of course i found the idea of the description of courses on the frontpage on your websites but I didn't dare to ask you directly.
The field of e-learning appealed to me so much that I chose the subject of my Masters Thesis "psychology of e-learning".

Thank you very much. I would like to contribute to this community by publishing my thesis. Unfortunately it will primarily be in Polis much as I would like it to be it in English. I think you might mean modifying the Theme--the colors and look of the site? Try the Themes forum.
By the way Prz--where do you get your images--they look so nice.
I get them from http://istockphoto.com/ - it's probably the cheapest royalty-free stock photo site around, just $1 (until recently it was 0.5$) per low-res image (enough for web sites or PowerPoint presentations). http://photos.com or http://hemera.com might turn out cheaper if you need a lot of images.
