SEF URL and Moodle

SEF URL and Moodle

Hello,

I am concerned  that Mooodle 2.1 doesn't provide Search Engine Friendly URL (well, if I am not wrong), which is not good at all considering Search Engine Optimisation nowadays.

This would be especially usefull for the "Pages site".

See for example the discussion http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=34142

Are SEF URLs in the Moodle devellopment agenda?

Well, for one thing, consider that what one group seems to think is important and useful, another may think of as being trivial, or a nuisance or outrightly dangerous.

The community I work in certainly do not want their Moodles to be open to public access so SEF URLs would be an anathema to them. We have discussed a common public site, using the Open to Google option, but so far nothing has come of it, or perhaps more to the point, no one is willing to commit to such a public offering. (This is not just a "Secret Squirrel" mentality, btw, there are perfectly valid reasons to restricting access to particular groups only and, essentially, making most sites "invitation only", but I would accept a large dose of simple paranoia..leende
