Hi all

My students have problems to view moodle on IE9.

What about your moodle.

Is it a known bug?

Is there a fix?

Thankyou for the answer.

It depends on your version of moodle and your theme.

The latest versions of moodle have most known IE8/IE9  bugs fixed - and a few open issues - but if you can't upgrade your moodle you could for example  tell your IE9/8 useres to swich the browser to compatibility view (mode) or IE7 mode (press F12 to see different options)

What is your Moodle?

Have various versions ranging from '1.9.7+ (Build: 20091223)' to '1.9.12 (Build: 20110510)'. People work with all sorts of (modern) browsers. No special incompatibility with IE9 was reported.

Which bug? Could you show us a screen shot for example? The bugs known to me are in IE. ;-(

My version of Moodle  is 1.9.4+ (Build: 20090204)

When a student goes on the home page the browser (IE9) show the page: "Page not found" .

On my PC the browser is IE8 and I open all the page, all the courses, all the functionality of the platform.

Gino, your moodle is really old - isn't it finally time to upgrade? In addition to many browser issue fixes there have been several security fixes and other bug fixes since 1.9.4.

You can find the latest version of moodle 1.9.14+ from http://download.moodle.org/

And if you go to tracker http://tracker.moodle.org/secure/Dashboard.jspa and make a quick search with "IE9" you can see which issues have been fixed and in which versions of moodle & which issues are still open.

And like said in previous posts students do not need to use IE9 in standards IE9 mode if you have no intention to upgrade your moodle - they can use either other browsers like Firefox or simply turn their IE9 to compatibility view or other mode from F12 (in keyboard). You can put a note to some label or to topic index in front page and explain the browser compatibility issues there.
