I suppose i should first and foremost say Hi. I'm new to moodle.org and the software as a whole.
I'm currently planing to set up a moodle site but i was wondering whether some of the things i need to impliment are default within moodle or require developing.
Course
The course requires numerous stages a student cannot progress to the next stage until the preceeding stage is complete.
Each stage will comprise of 3 "lessons" and then a test. Lessons comprise of flash presentations and/or html documentation. I believe this is standard functionality and shouldnt pose a problem? Once this test has been passed the student can progress to the next stage. Be it automatically or progressed by a 'teacher' or 'administrator'.
After stage 3 a student must get a work placement. At which point they must recieve a form, possibly by email to give to their prospective employer for them to sign.
They must also fill in this employers details somewhere (i'm not sure how best to impliment this with moodle? Hidden details on a users profile or something?)
Teacher
Teachers need the ability to view a students progress through the process. I am given to understand that there is a module for this? although i may have been misinformed.
Mock/Final Exam
The mock and final exam happen twice a year. When a student is placed on a course the date of the mock and final exams must be determined for them at that point. Although i believe a student has the ability to retake an exam Would setting a time for completetion like this be possible? possibly based on registration time?
Additional functionality
Homework tasks to be assigned to groups of students or a single student with the ability to communicate. I understand the group could possibly be handled by a forum but does moodle have the ability to set homework or something similar to an individual within a group?
