Dear friends,
We have worked with Moodle 1.9. There is a folder called "files" in it, where we put the files of the course.
However in Moodle 2.1, we did not find this folder.
Is there any way to create this folder? We want to have a folder with all files of the course, as in Moodle 1.9. Is it possible?
Thank you all!
Thanks, Marcelo.
How to create folder "Files" in Moodle 2.1 as in Moodle 1.9

Hi Marcelo, in Moodle 2.1 the managing of files changed a lot. Now you have to go to the File Picker to see all the new repositories options added to Moodle 2.1. Until now this is what I have found... The repositories options are enabled in the Admin menu, plugin, repositories-manage repositories. Then, thru the option of My profile you can access the File picker and create folders and upload files that are user context, only that user can see them, even the admin can see only his files. When working in a course you can upload files to the course looking to your private files, that after loading appear in the specific course folder that you can see in the File picker under the Server files, where you can find the courses categories folders and its files. But all the files and folders of the user remain visible in the private file repository area. You can also upload files browsing to your computer and not from the private files area, going to add resources-files, these files are automatically located in the File Picker area, in the Server files in the specific course folder and are not visible in the private file area. As you can see file managing is now contextual, user context, course context and even public, visibles for all users, if you choose using system files thru FTP repositories.
I do not know if there are other possibilities, but this is what I have learned till now, I hope can be useful.

Here is the documentation on files and folders in 2.0. You might also like to look at the links to legacy course files (and private files) http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Working_with_files_and_folders
