I am using moodle 2.0.
I have created a quiz activity for a course. This quis is made up with more than one question category. I get the grade report after successfully submit the test. I get grade for all the test.
Now, I need different grade report for different category and also for whole test.
What I have to do for this functionality? Please help me.

If I understanding you right, you're asking if you can get the grades by question category in addition to the grade for the whole test. Is that right? If so, I had the same question a month or two back and although I didn’t get an exact answer, I believe from the responses that Moodle 2.0 does not allow for this. (I hope I’m wrong)
What I did to work around it was to build my quizzes in smaller sections by topic and set it where they have to finish the first one before the second one is active etc. This way I have a better idea on the student’s weak spots and areas they should focus on. Although it’s more quizzes they have to take, this works for me for now.
I would like very much to know that Moodle 2.0 (now 2.03 for me) has the ability to give grades by question category and that I’ve missed something, so I will be watching the responses. I’m not a Moodle expert, just a relatively new user still trying to get it all figured out.

I'm wondering if you ever found a way to do this -- report on grades per question category? In my case I have a Chemistry Quiz that has questions from categories "Quantitative" and "Chemical Knowledge" and want to see how well students do on each type of question.
I did have it divided into one quiz for each type, but they need to be times, and there's no sensible way to divide an hour between the two topics.
I am looking at the custom sql report writing tool and working on it right now, but thought I'd ask if you've come up with anything.

We're currently working with a developer to get the report produced. It's a the beta testing phase and things are going well. Once finished, we plan to release the code to the community. You might find it difficult to produce the results you need using the custom sql report module, especially if you want to make the results available to teachers and students seemelessly.
