Hello all,

we have 2.0.1 and I think we need to upgrade to 2.0.3 to deal wiht grades and users having multiple roles.  Specifically http://tracker.moodle.org/browse/MDL-20946.

I am a new administrator. I have read the upgrade guides. i was wondering if there are any tips that would be of use befoer doing so. I am going to put the sirte in maintenance mode, backup the db, mysql dump the whole thing, backup the whole site. update code and put in new stuff. i couldn't find how many db changes, if any, there were. the db changes are really my concern.

Thanks

Jeff

Hi

Your plan is thorough. If you want to be very sure:

> I am going to put the sirte in maintenance mode, backup the db, mysql dump the whole thing, backup the whole site.

- Pull those three things out of the server, to your local machine or an external medium.

- Recreate the site from the backup in a test machine.

> update code and put in new stuff.

You replace the old Moodle code with the new one.

> the db changes are really my concern.

The upgrade script in the new version will detect and correct it.
