Hello everyone,

I am very new to moodle.

Looking for help, advice and starightforward installation procedures for best combination of tools that use Latex and let draw, play and manipulate graphs in activities ad quizzes the easiest way both from the teacher and from the student perspectives.

Could you please summarize the best tools presently available for moodle 2.1 last release!

Best regards

Khaled

The kind of functionality you are asking for is not impossible, but it is still new in Moodle - and mostly under development.

There are a number of tools available that are external to Moodle, LiveTex for any platform, or MikTex for Windows that allow you to use Latex. Geogebra is a tool that can be used in different environments, for drawing. You can use the native TeX filter in Moodle, but it is not as powerful as either LiveTex or MikTex - but a simple introductory tool none-the-less. There are some developments in this area, and sometime soon, perhaps in v2.2 or 2.3, there will be a drawing pad available and maybe a number of maths tools, including Geogebra.

Thanks for your answer!

I was talking about the "best performing" latex and drawing tools or plugins presently available the new release of moodle or even for earlier versions.

Regards

Then you might want to look at the links referred to here, in this discussion. Mauno and Marc are very good at this stuff..smile You may have to wait until Friday, but as it is Mauno, it will be worth it.
