images and text gone after restore

I restored a course to a new server. I first used a fresh backup with users and their files.

None of the Text was there in the course topics and the assignments and resources had no text and the icon was incorrect.

I deleted the course and tried a backup without users or their files. Same problem.

I then used full backup again including the users and their files and restored it over the top of the previous one and the text and icons were there.

Any explanations for this.

Hi Brian,

what Moodle version are you using? What do you want to say with "None of the Text was there in the course topics" or with "the icon was incorrect"?

Can you send any attachment to see your exact problem? Or a copy of your backup zip file? Backups without users won't, obviously, have any user data (forum posts, assignment submissions...) but activities must be restored without problems!

If you can explain your problem better, sure we can help (or, at least, try it). wink
