Best quiz format for Moodle + Blackboard

Best quiz format for Moodle + Blackboard

I'm in a situation where I need to develop content for both Moodle and Blackboard servers. I'm in the process of writing some quizzes, and I'd like to avoid as much duplication of effort as possible. What's the best way to write quiz questions to go on both servers? It looks like Blackboard is pretty thin on import capabilities, so should I put the questions there first, then import the Blackboard file into Moodle? Or is that asking for trouble?

Any recommendations?

In theory you should be able to use a SCORM editor to generate questions and use them in both Blackboard and Moodle. In practice I have not been happy with the results, both in terms of editors or in terms of importing and using SCORM in either Moodle or Blackboard.

Hi John,

I create my exercises/quizzes in Hot Potatoes and import them easily into Moodle 1.9 through the Hot Pot Module or QuizPort and into Moodle 2 through the Hot Pot Module (TaskChain the sequel to QuizPort for Moodle 2 coming soon). Hot Potatoes exercises can be Scormed or imported into the Moodle Quiz module.  I've never used Blackboard, but years ago I seem to remember incoporating them into WebCT no problem.

I'm a bit of a control freak: who knows if Moodle or Blackboard will be here 10 years from now, but as long as there's an Internet with some form of html, Hot Potatoes pages can be put on it.

I've also started to explore Xerte which can be presented through QuizPort or stand alone in Moodle.
