Hei Mauno and Marc,

My condition right now-
i am using moodle 1.9.10 there is Mathtran filter too.

Inserting symbols in MCQ is not problem.
But for Matching Type, there is 'DROP DOWN MENU' That creates problem!!
BOTH columns have EXPRESSIONS

I think it require HTML.

it woks.(For symbol as like @,> etc)

But how to do for big Maths Expressions? How to convert them in HTML?

one option i tried 'FIREMATH- addon in firefox'.
i couldn't use it properly.

Which 'output' format should i used? (comlete XHTML, stand alone equation, etc.)

In FireMath- it is not show ROOT sign properly when i used it XHTML format in my Question Bank.

So. pl. suggest perfect HTML converter for BIG Maths Expression.

TIA

Ravi

You can use both html entities and unicode characters in dropdown menus and you could use also AsciimathML with Firefox but as a common rule other browsers than Firefox do not support images in dropdown menus so all kinds of image fallbacks fail in dropdown menus. I have not tested how MathJax behaves in MathML mode...

It might be possible to use also a tiny javascript to change dropdown menus to other html elements and this way show images with other html elements to other browsers than FF but core moodle might need a new question type for that.

So the best workaround today is to use other question types for questions having big mathematical expressions and to use html entities or unicode characters in such question types that use dropdown menus.

Hei Mauno,
Last two months i am avoiding this type of questions.
Now,
I think I have following options

1) i should use Hot Potatoes for matching type Question. (again MathML).
But HP 's look is nice with compare to moodle for matching type of Q.!!

2) A Simple LaTeX to HTML Converter
http://www.davidpace.com/all-else/other-items/latex-to-html.htm

Here i think, some change has to be made because Here is SINGLE DOLLAR.
I am trying this.
You may provide your Expert Opinion for 'A Simple LaTeX to HTML Converter'.

What do you think about FireMath?

Last two months i am avoiding this type of questions.
