Moodle 2.0.2 on Postgres

Is there a setting or programming "fix" that would allow direct nemeric text entry of assignment grades in the "Grade" function rather than using the puuldown menu. This feature works very well in the "Manual grade" function in a "Quiz" for marking essay-type questions - allowing the assignment of whole or decimal grades with no problem. In our environment (post-secondary) instructors regularly assign part marks and need to be able to do so within the assignment grade function. Grades can be overridden in the greade book, but this then locks the assignment feedback options. It would be most efficient if instructors could simply enter whole number or decimal greades directly via the assignment Grade function.

MDL-22999 and MDL-9085 deal with this.  I worked up the patch for 1.9 branch and had gone substantially into the 2.x patch but have unfortunately seen little response from those needing to review.  Though the issues already have a lot of votes and have been around quite a while, perhaps a bunch more votes could push it over the edge for review and subsequent 2.x versioning.  We have had this running in production at our school for two terms without problems and its included in the CLAMP LAE version of Moodle.
