Hi, I'm looking for ideas to create grammar exercises where students can drag a sentence block and attach it to a word. I've seen it done with Flash but I was wondering if there is any moodle module for this.
Thanks
Hi Berthe,
In Moodle 1.9 you can do this with two activities: Hot Potatoes and with Quiz but you need an add-on. You can also create the exercises with Flash outside Moodle and import them in a SCORM package.
If you search the Hot Potatoes, Quiz and SCORM forums you'll find more information. In Moodle docs too.
Cheers,
Glenys
Thank you Glenys for your prompt response. I looked at HotPot and Quiz modules documentation but I couldn't find anything about animated exercise. Please send me a link for it.
Berhe
Hi Berhe,
Google found me these for the Quiz add-on (I've never used it myself, though):
Drag and drop is a standard option for Hot Potatoes JMix and JMatch. Here's a Hot Potatoes tutorial (Click through the tutorial until you find "The Potatoes, one by one" and then "JMatch") and here's an example: Vocabulary Practice.
Hot Potatoes is very easy to learn to use, but you have to make the exercises on your computer and then upload them to Moodle and display them through the HotPot Module. The scores are included in the gradebook.
Cheers,
Glenys
I just checked the vocabulary practice and it's exactly what I was looking for.
Many thanks Glenys!
This grammar exercise is a real good one and I suppose animation is a great way to make a child understand the different concepts of grammar.
