From my hosted service, I have installed version 1.99 of Moodle from the CPANEL. I then ran the site and tried to log in as the admin. The site is not recognizing the username or the password. I cannot seem to do anything to change this. I have reinstalled it but to no avail.
mmm Try this, go into the database using phpMyAdmin and look to see what the type of database and the charset it. If it is not collation and UTF-8 you have been stung by an error in cpanel, some versions nominate a different charset, and I do not know why.
If that is the issue then there is a lot of discussion in a number of forums on how to fix the problem - too many to list here.
If that is not the problem then you may want to look at using the adminfix.php script to try and break into the Moodle.
