How can I get a Theme for Moodle 1.9.7 that looks like Moodle.org's Yellow theme?

Hi.

Yeah, yeah I know, still tinkering with Moodle 1.9.7 when Moodle 2.0 is already out.
Well, actually I've already invested in so many 100s of man-hours getting ny Moodle 1.9.7 site chockful of plugin goodies, so it would be a CRIME for me to switch the the latest new-fangled Moodle 2.0.

Anyway, I digress...so how can I make my site look like Moodle.org's theme without having to create from scratch my own theme? Currently I'm using the classic and venerable formal_white theme.

Martin has chose to keep Moodle.org's theme private, so that it is the only site that looks like that in the world. Somewhere there is a post or an FAQ explaining this, but I can't find it right now.

There is a theme called Anomaly, (included in the 2.0 release, but I think available as a download for 1.9) that is visually similar, but using a different colour scheme.

BTW, if you find any theme that's a nice golden yellowish like Moodle.org, without being too garish, do let me know.

Tim doesn't mean Anomaly, he means Arialist. You can see how it looks by logging into our Moodle Demonstration site as an admin and changing the theme.

Well, it was called Anomaly when it was added to Moodle 2.0. I did not know that it had previously been known by a different name.

Tim,

Anomaly is Green, whereas Arialist is Orange, I think Helen was going by colour, whilst you where going by layout style, rounded corners and such. smile

Oops, sorry for not reading Tim's post carefully enough. He does mention that Anomoly uses a different colour scheme!

Thanks Mary for pointing out the similarities between the moodle.org theme and Anomoly.

There's a nice orangewhite core theme in Moodle  1.9.10

Mary I was using (playing around more like it) with Shoutbox on my Moodle 1.9.7 site when something happened - next thing I know my Anomaly Orange theme was broken. Same thing for Anomaly theme. Here are 2 screenshots.

and ditto for anomaly theme. See the sides? Misaligned.

 

I deleted the themes' folders and re-ftp'ed them back in. Same story.

How do I get back my beloved Anomaly Orange theme? I'm currently using Foodle (my other favourite theme) in the meantime.

Sounds like a conflict going on somewhere. I would put Debugging on and put the Anomaly theme back in your Moodle and try to select it, and see if it throws up some errors.

If your Orange theme is based on Anomaly, it's more likely that Anomaly  will be casuing the problem, not your theme.
