MNET when running everything over SSL

MNET when running everything over SSL

Hello,

I wonder if I could run in trouble if e.g. moodle- and mahara are completly running via https. In fact I want to connect https://moodle.site with https://mahara.site using MNET.

Performance is no problem at the moment - only SSL-handshaking slows don't surfspeed a little - and there's a little more CPU-usage (but it's normally boring most of the time).

regards,

Maik

After just a try:

MNET runs fine even when using HTTPS on both sides - muss be well implemented in php-xmlprc-extension.

Thanks for the test Maik. Just a side note - the MNet protocol itself is encrypted and signed so it is reasonable safe to use it with plain http, too. But I can see your point and it's good to have confirmed it works as expected.

Hi David,

I am aware of the encryption of the MNET-protocol. So now I have encrypted data using an encrypted connection...

In germany there's much mistrust in the safety of "the internet". The blue URL-line (FF) or the key symbol (IE) helps a lot to convince people to use Web2.0 tools.

I am Class 2 member of startssl - 50,- Euro/year for the ability to get any server certificate signed (wildcard, multidomain included).

cheers,

Maik

PS:

Big hand for this great networking feature. Fetching the pubkey sometimes fails - even without https enabled..
