Hi,

I have some problem with a bad formated feed. The rss client block show this message :

"A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed."

What is this force_feed function ?

I have the same issue, I have a perfectly valid yahoo pipes rss feed that works in most rss readers, but in moodle I get...

"A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed."

What is this force_feed function and can I use it??

Hi,

I think this is caused by a bug - MDL-28569

Could you possibly share the feed urls which are failing? Are do they have an '&' in them?

Hi Carol,

I believe this is now fixed in the lastest version of 2.0 and 2.1, as mentioned above it was caused by the bug: MDL-28569

I checked somany sites and forums, everybody discussing but I didn't get any solution yet. Anyone know what is the solution for this?

I have had an RSS feed set up for almost 6 months now working fine.  I am on moodle 2.2  and in the last few days it has stopped working and now I am getting the same error.  

Error loading this RSS feed (A feed could not be found at http://feeds2.feedburner.com/AnswerItRoyally. A feed with an invalid mime type may fall victim to this error, or SimplePie was unable to auto-discover it.. Use force_feed() if you are certain this URL is a real feed.)

Any help to fix this would be greatly appriciated!
