i'm new to moodle and got a problem now...
i installed the 2.0 rc1 and want to restrict the messaging only to users who are in the same course...
but i don't know how to generally restrict that users can write other users that are not at least in 1 of the same courses as the logged-in user is, and filter the search by that too.
how can i do that?

As in previous versions of Moodle, it's not possible to restrict messaging to users who are in the same course. Please see Messaging FAQ for details of how you can restrict messaging.
okay it isn't possible in the site GUI, but is there any framework-function to test if any of the user's courses is the same as mine? then i would try to extend the messaging module
